You might have noticed that in some categories, judges are awarding typical first-, second- and third-place awards, plus some honorable mentions. The judges in our contest have complete say over what awards are given.They can give no awards. Or ties for first place.
In a couple of categories, judges have awarded only honorable mentions. That is their way of recognizing work that they don’t think quite measures up to a higher award, but that does something really well.
Throughout the day, we’ll be posting comments from the judges. They’re noticing a lack of restraint in general. In some cases, they might want to recognize the use of images but have a hard time with the typography. Those kinds of pages often get honorable mention.
