A half dozen hearty Mizzou students spent this beautiful Saturday morning ripping open envelopes and adding up figures (and who said journalists can’t do math?). We got a total of 419 entries in the College News Design Contest this year. That’s an increase from last year but down from our pre-recession days.
The most exciting find of the morning: There are QUADRUPLE the number of entries in multimedia categories as we’ve had any previous year, including big stacks from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Arizona State University. Our multimedia judges, who work remotely and confer digitally, will have their work cut out for them. We’ll hear from them via video chat at 9:30 central time on April 20 about who won and why. Join the conversation by tweeting questions to @sndmizzou.
Thanks, all for your entries. I can’t wait to hear what the judges have to say on the 19th and 20th.
